ArcGIS Programmer

Frederick, Maryland

The ArcGIS programmer provides GIS-based programming expertise for the GeoSAR science and technologies department. The programmer implements requirements and algorithms using ArcGIS, JAVA, and C++/C# .NET based code on MS Windows, as well as use script coding in a UNIX-based environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop code in accordance with design documentation and guidance from Software and system engineering
  • Develop software code in accordance with algorithm descriptions and documentation.
  • Perform code de-bugging and validation
  • Contribute to the development and/or refinement of new and current products, procedures, and software to enable GeoSAR to continue to offer the high level of quality, innovation, and value expected by customers
  • Provide database expertise in support of company-wide and/or group-wide information systems development, including database development

Requirements

  • Candidate must be US citizen or green card holder
  • BS in computer science or engineering, or equivalent amount of education and experience
  • 3-5 years industrial experience
  • Knowledge and 2 years experience with all or some of the following: software development on Windows platforms with ArcGIS, database development using ORACLE and SQL, fluency in C/C++, C#, ASP.NET, VB.NET, Fortran, MDL, Avenue, HTML and Java
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop software based on algorithm definitions and/or system requirements; ability to debug and validate software products
  • Ability to solve technical impediments effectively and quickly with advanced solutions provided
  • Knowledge and 3 years experience with SAR Processing and Interferometric SAR processing, digital mapping using major CAD packages such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Terra Model and GIS software products, and/or experience with the Unix OS
