Coastal Resources

The world's coastal habitats contain a wealth of resources: they are the spawning grounds for fish and shellfish; they are recreational outlets and tourist destinations; they provide natural buffers from flooding caused by hurricanes and other large storms. Helping coastal scientists protect these habitats, Fugro EarthData offers numerous geospatial services related to coastal monitoring, including benthic and land/sea mapping. From these datasets, scientists can better understand and mitigate the threats now facing our coastlines.

Fugro EarthData is partnering with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to provide geospatial services in support of their Digital Coast iniative. Launched in 2008, the Digital Coast partnership addresses coastal issues nationwide including land use, coastal conservation, marine spatial planning, and climate change.
